I seldom write review for restaurant. But I am going to break my rules this time for my recent visit to the Mott 32 restaurant in Vancouver, BC was so surprisingly good. It is one of the priciest Chinese restaurants in Vancouver but I found...it worth every cent of it. Their best dish is definitely the Peking Duck. You have to order 24 hrs ahead of time. When you see it how it is prepared with so much care and grilled with applewood before tabling, you will understand why they need such time especially they will not do the final stage of grilling 45 mins before tabling. The Peking Duck tabled was literally piping hot. Another reason I hight recommend this dish is for its price at CAD95. It is definitely very reasonable when compared with restaurants of the same class in other parts of the world especially Hong Kong. In Hong Kong, a Peking Duck in a top hotel restaurant can cost you up to CAD238. I must also give my special honourable mention to our Korean waiter, Philip Kim. He was very very attentive and accommodating. One of the dishes, stir fry lobster with egg white and black truffles, we ordered, was overly salty. He replaced it with a new dish without question. Actually, he told us later that he tasted the dish himself and confirmed with the chef that it was salty. Now I should say that was service.
