This small storefront restaurant is a gem. Its customers are mostly regulars and everyone seems to know everyone else. But when strangers like us arrive (we found it by chance on the internet before we traveled to Victoria), the warm welcome from Brenda and her...brother James makes you feel like family. Indeed, this is a family restaurant, with another brother the owner and another sister the cook. Brenda said they all know every job so they can take over for each other as needed. They have a fun sense of humor, with funky signs like "Be nice or leave" and chairs at the family-style table with cute names. The buffet was very popular with most of the lunch regulars. We ordered from the menu and were delighted with our choices. The potstickers were perfect and the tempura prawns very light. The delicious chicken in peanut sauce entree was served over a generous pile of al dente veggies (or you can have rice or noddles) and is served spicy or not, as you wish. A nice touch not seen very often anymore -- the entrees come with lids to keep them warm. We are returning to Victoria in September 2020 and definitely will go back to this restaurant for another lovely meal.
