Hidden away in a business park in North York is a hidden dim sum restaurant that we thought that we would try for the first time. It took us a little time to find but it is just off consumer’s road in North York. Sandwiched...between a convenience store and other restaurants, the parking lot was hard to find as well. We arrived at 11:34 just shortly after opening and was surprised to discover that the restaurant was very empty. It took us a minute but we were seated quickly. No wait which is usually a plus in my book. We discovered that most of the patrons come an hour later but even then, the restaurant wasn’t full. Staff speak both English and Chinese. We think that this may be a relatively new restaurant. The decor is quite modern and clean looking. The bathrooms were individual rooms with everything that you would need included a timed blow dryer. This is also very modern. Tea was ordered. Ice water was tepid. The menu was short but on a piece of paper that you need to check off. This included dim sum, Norther Dim Sum and Chinese dishes. All seemed to be well priced. We ordered a lot to try a good selection of the offerings. Everything was spot on and we didn’t have any complaints. We did notice that they did pork products such as the sui mai, beef balls and ribs exceptionally well. Although, they didn’t have any rice rolls or congee, which was slightly a disappointment, they did have a soup dumpling, which I ordered one for everyone at our table. This was also impressive. My companion was disappointed with the curried squid, which he felt didn’t have enough curry flavour, but I didn’t have a problem with it. We both questioned the tripe as they were thinner than I remember but the flavour was there. All condiments that you need come with what we ordered which was great. Overall… Service 5 out of 5 Good 4 out of 5 Atmosphere 5 out of 5 Definitely would recommend for a quiet and relaxed dim sum experience.
