Giovane + Eatery + Market is the only place at the Fairmont Pacific Rim still serving food, of course takeout only. It is open, serving delicious food from 6 a.m to 8 p.m., from a limited menu, which includes coffees, pastries, & a changing daily...pizza & salad. g, as it brands itself — g symbolizing gourmet — also has a programme to support health care workers, with first responders & others on the front line of this pandemic able to show their ID & receive a complimentary coffee, as well as a orogramme which donates a meal to a front line worker with every meal bought — also offering the opportunity to donate 5$ for a meal which is then sent on to heath workers. Certainly three inspiring initiatives & ones easy for customers to collaborate in the support of those who are supporting us. So delicious food available for takeaways & for donating. to those who are helping Vancouver keep up its battle against the Coronavirus. g is very much in the European mold, & one can imagine just such places in Italy. My first job while still at high school & just 14, was a skinny place with great coffee, pastries & some daily pizza & salad, much the same at g. I loved my part-time work there & the concept wowed the place I lived in, not used to such a very Italian outfit. It was called Giovanni’s, the name of the owner, a close name to Giovane, which I assume is a name perhaps between the male Giovanni & the female Giovanna. g of course makes working it out easy..
