I wanted to support local businesses after the difficult shutdown that I know was hard on bars and restaurants. My friend and I chose this pub because it has one of the nicer patios in this area, with an awning and plants so that you...can be in the shade rather than the hot sun. The food is nothing to write home about, but we were just looking forward to being on a patio again and having a cool drink. Given what businesses went through to re-open and the fact that wearing a mask is one of the easiest ways to reduce spread of the virus, I was very surprised to see only one staff member here, a hostess, wearing a mask. Our own server and other servers who went past us were not wearing masks. I had walked past several other patios on the way to this one, and had noted that all of the servers were wearing masks, so I assumed this would be the case everywhere. Apparently not. Yes, the server did her best to keep a distance from us, but why would any business not take this most basic step to assure customers? I work in retail, and our managers require the staff are to wear masks. Very puzzling. Our main dishes were ok, if not exciting. Was surprised that in the peak of summer they didn't have anything cold and refreshing for dessert, such as sorbet or gelato. So instead of getting something here, we went to an ice cream place up the street.
