Having previously worked at a Korean restaurant I had the privilege of trying a vast amount of delicious Korean food. After having moved on to other career prospects and said restaurant eventually closing I no longer knew where to go to get my favourite Korean...dishes in Winnipeg. Luckily I somehow heard about Kim Baek and made the trip across town to give it a try. All of my favourites are on the menu and as tasty as I remember them being. The Gamjatang (pork neck bone soup), Bibimbap (rice, meat and veggies mixed with an egg and sauce in a stone bowl) and Haemul Pajeon (the most delicious seafood pancake you will ever have the opportunity of trying) are all amazing. Really everything I tried was delicious but I won't name them all. Your meal will also come with Panchan which are tasty little side dishes including rice, kimchi, yummy bean sprouts and marinated potatoes to name a few. If you are a Korean food lover Kim Baek will have the standards you are looking for. If you have never tried Korean food before and are looking to try something new I definitely encourage you to go to Kim Baek. All of that said, there is not much for atmosphere and the service is slow (I think they may only have one waitress on at a time), but it's worth the wait and the price is right.
