I have been to the Three Jewels a few times and it was good enough, but tonight they really hit their stride. I had the spice pho #6- it was the most delicious broth - with lots of veg, tofu, yummy vegetarian "meat" balls and...of course the requisite crunchy bean sprouts and basil served on the side. My friends had pho two one ordered the #4 and the other #5 - both were happy, but I think I scored the prize pho. It was not terribly hot, but zingy enough and oh so tasty. We also split an order of the Spring Rolls served over rice vermicelli that had a side of fresh, crisp salad and delicious traditional dipping sauce. We were all stuffed with the small size phos (which you can see from the pics are quite large) and the shared spring rolls - all for about 9 $ each! (just over 12$ with a beer). in Vancouver! a fresh delicious dinner for under 10 bucks! Relaxed service where you can linger after dinner. We sat and chatted, watching the activity go by on the Drive, very pleasant. Now all they need are more visitors. I am rather surprised that on Commercial drive, a vegetarian spot this good isn't packed. One thing I would suggest to the owners though is to have a better selection of beer. It will make a difference. After tonight, I will definitely be back with more friends. Thanks Tomoyo for the pictures!More
