I am looking at our receipt: Pizza 2001, 595 Pender Street, Vancouver BC. Now I look at the photo of the shop and see a bunch of names up on the storefront: 2001 Flavors and Fantastico Pizza 2001 and then our receipt says Pizza 2001....This is a little corner business with a few stools, a pizza display case, and an active kitchen. A lot of their business is pie by the slice. Our order was for a large veggie so we waited while it was being prepared. We've been here 2 years ago and remembered it as one of our best-ever pizzas but memories can be flawed and expectations may be over-blown. Although it was pretty good, something was missing. The sauce or the cheese (or both?) were sort of bland and the veggies lacked interest. Would we go there again? Maybe. There are lots of pizza places to try so the search may very well continue.
