This Japanese chain cafe finally landed in Vancouver. As expected Japanese restaurant service is usually meticulous and cleanliness is top notched. Another thing that is expected is the line up! Well, there's good days and bad times and days for the line ups. The drinks...are awesome with authentic matcha flavour, colour and good size. The just about right amount of azuki (red bean) that's not too filling and sandy work beautifully with the cream. The shiratama, the white mochi balls, give the drink yet another texture. Only 3 mochi balls in the drink is another well thought out move. Again, it's for the texture and culture but they are not there to fill you up . Matcha and Azuki are solid proven great partners. The Strawberry sourness really compliment the sweetness of azuki which is only subtly sweet anyway. Next I should really try out the Hojicha flavoured drinks. The pastry is pretty good but nothing above and beyond. The Matcha Tart is too sweet and has a slightly gluey texture. Overall, the pastry is not as good as the drinks. Match swiss roll doesn't have any matcha flavour but tasted like regular swiss roll. The seating area is tucked inside of the cafe and is very calming with both table and chair, and bar seating arrangement. The real food menu selection is very limited. The portion and selection seem to target for female clients who are on diet.
