We had accumulated gift cards over the last couple of years and decided to use them for our wedding anniversary. I am not a big fan of all you can eat menus but why not if it’s free? We arrived precisely at 7:00, our reservation...time, and were seated promptly. The restaurant was about half capacity of the half capacity Covid limits. The server greeted us and I ordered a bottle of wine from their limited selection. When the wine arrived my wife toasted our celebration but the server couldn’t have cared less. I guess a complimentary dessert was not to be. We ordered two sides and turned our indicator to green to signal the gaucho carvers. They arrived immediately with some flank steak. I tried some and gave my jaw muscles a workout chewing the tough cut. The sides arrived and we shared a small Caesar salad and mixed roasted vegetables. The salad was a bit dry and bland and the vegetables were overdone but nicely seasoned. More meat was on the way. The top sirloin was tender and tasty, the prime rib was tough and salty, the chorizo was a little greasy but very tasty. We turned the indicator to red to take a break. The ambience in the dining area is nice with a second floor view of the Red River. The noise level was acceptable and fairly intimate. Back to green for more meat. The chicken thighs were a bit fatty but very tasty, the smoked ham was lean and melted in your mouth and the roasted pineapple sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar was quite tasty. All in all the meal was good but not worth the $200.00 including tip. Seniors 60+ do get a $20.00 discount but not Friday and Saturday. It was not fine dining as we were in and out in 45 minutes.
