I was intending to go to restaurant down the block, but the line up was too long. I knew about Peaceful but never tried it before, so we decided to give it a try. It was a good decision. There was no wait for a...table at 6:30pm on a Friday evening, but the restaurant was near full. There were a number of people waiting for takeout though, so it may look busier than it really is. We tried: - Xiao-Long Bao Steamed Buns - Very good. Thin skin that didn't break. Not a lot of soup, but good flavor. Kids loved it. - Sesame Flat-Bread - Good texture, but could either use more salt or more toasted sesame to give it a more flavor. Otherwise, need a sauce to accompany it. - Shanghai Stir-fried Noodles - Good, but seemed to have a very low noodle ratio with a lot more cabbage than expected. - Peaceful Beef Rolls - Very good. I normally don't order, but was pretty impressed with this dish. Flat-bread was crisp and proportion of beef, flatbread and hoisin was just right. Service was a bit lacking, even by Chinese restaurant standards. Food came out fairly quick. There is no dedicated server to the table, so you wave down anyone that is available. Even though the staff didn't look too busy as they were strolling around quite often, but some of the staff seemed to be daydreaming. Plenty of street parking available at $1/hr in the evening. Overall, I'm glad we tried it. Pretty good food at pretty good value, but not great service. It's probably worth mentioning that Guy Fieri featured this local chain on one of his shows once, so it's quite popular among tourists. I'd give 3.5 stars, but since I can't give half stars, I'd round down to 3 stars but has 4 star potential.
