A very nice dining experience set in a building not particularly good looking from the outside. Beautiful Japanese style decore/ambiance - interesting giant plasma tv places Japanese/Japan images on a loop. Lots of red and black. Open chef prep area is interesting to see them work. The menu has all the basics from sushi, sashimi, California rolls, stir fries. We both had a Bento box (good way to sample a variety of items) -- I had the first one on the menu that contained sushi, sashimi, a stir fry (beef) and some veggie/shrimp tempura. My husband had one of the bentos without sashimi, but came with a salad instead. Both bentos came with miso/seaweed soup. They brought the soups at same time as the box -- which is unusual -- as any other Japanese place we've been to they give you your soup ahead of time. Regardless, it was all well prepared and the sashimi very good. Service was pleasant and helpful -- they have iPads with 'some' photos -- which I'm sure they'll add to in time. A couple of wine/beer selections. We shared a medium portion of hot saki which was nice and not too potent. We sat in a booth -- and although comfortable seats, the table and/or placement of the benches is awkward as the bench is too far from the table so we end up sitting on the edge of the bench to eat. Tables should have either been made wider - or - benches and floor plan augmented to have them placed closer to the table. We did not have dessert as we were full enough after the bento meal. Dinner for two with saki, tax and tip = $70. We'll be back, as they are in the neighbourhood and it was a great little (but filling) meal. Next time we'll choose to sit at a regular table. Enjoy!
