We've been here a few times and it's always been fun. But this time was definitely a new one for hospitality experience. I just left the patio after spending a couple hours enjoying the afternoon. Our bill was $37 and change. My boyfriend paid with a $50 bill and was waiting for change. We realized that after 15 minutes he didn't return so Dave approached him in the restaurant. He claimed he asked if we wanted change and Dave said that he didn't hear anything on the patio. Sitting right on 17th Ave, it's easy to miss what people say, especially with all the loud mufflers of the cars cruising about. Even still, you should never ask but assume your customers want their change. Your server immediately assumed an attitude and said that your restaurant doesn't give change. How can he say that when he said he asked if we needed change but now that we do, it's restaurant policy to jot give change. Is this for real?! What restaurant policy is this?! Your server, who appears to be Hispanic(?) male, then proceeded to tell us we are sooooo lucky he even accepted our cash and we should be so grateful because no other restaurant on 17th accepts cashier. AND then told us to get out and get over ourselves. To. Get. Over. Ourselves. I have never been shouted at by a restaurant server. I myself have been a server/bartender for 6 years while attending university. Never have I ever, shouted at patrons, even the most drunk and belligerent ones. And this server is upset we dared to ask for change. How could he be so entitled and assumed he would get $50 on $37. Had he brought change, we would have taken $5 and left the rest which is a sufficient 20% tip. But we obviously didn't after he gave us such terrible attitude. Never have I ever experienced such atrocious attitude from a server. I am so embarrassed for you to employ this staff member. Clearly we will not be back.
