I brought a girlfriend here for lunch. A coworker raved about the food at Max’s so I thought I would give it a try. Food was decent but on the pricey side. Just under $65 including tip for 2. Portions are on the small side....We ordered 3 dishes plus Halo halo for dessert. We had their famous fried half chicken. Crispy skin chicken that was moist and not greasy with a side of semi warm yam fries. Also had their newest dish of salted fish fried rice. Not too salty and topped with a salted egg. Third dish was the crispy pata which comes in small, medium or large portion. Tender meat with crispy skin. The halo halo was different that had purple yam ice cream. It consisted of shaved ice, assorted sweet beans, and sago. Refreshing for a hot day. There’s a good selection of meat dishes. Not so for vegetarians or vegans. Our servers were friendly and gave some good recommendations. Ambience reminded me of a cafeteria. There was a large room which was great for parties. Parking is on the street. I rate it only a 3 out of 5 as the prices don’t really justify the portions.
