How do you rate service as poor when you didn't even get any service? We got to O2's at 5:45 Monday evening. Our waitress, Brooklyn, was busy with about 20 customers. She told us she had only worked there about a week and kept apologizing...for slow service even though she was right on top of everything at our table. The 4 of us ordered food, which came out promptly, hot and was delicious. Compliments to the chef! Whenever anyone at the table was down 1/2 a drink Brooklyn was there asking if we needed another drink. She picked our empty plates up immediately, and was happy - if a little rushed - to chat with us. Overall we loved our first hours here with this excellent server. Brooklyn was off at 8:00 and collected the $79.54 bill from us. (5 pints of Keiths ($38.75), 1 Red Curry Chicken Bowl - Yummy!! ($18.00), 1 Club house ($17.50), WHAT??? Fries and gravy were an additional $1.50 for the $17.50 sandwich?!?!?!! That's kind of high! We paid our tab along with a large tip at $8:51 pm. My husband came for a foos-ball tournament played on Monday nights. I was the Designated Driver, and as such, Brooklyn did not charge me for my pop. EXCELLENT Policy!! Good for management!! At 9:55 (a full hour after Brooklyn left) my husband had to call over the waitress standing around at the bar in order to get another beer. By now all the Happy Hour Crowd had left and there was no in the building except the 20 foos-ball players, myself, and 4 (apparent) regulars at the bar. There was a portly man hanging around at the rear of the bar ... I was told he was the bouncer .... to which I laughed. Who was there to cause trouble? As we found out when the bill came, the waitress that took over for Brooklyn was Nikki. She finished off the few tables left from the Happy Hour crowd, and then parked herself at the far end of the bar and did NOTHING for the next hour. I know. I was annoyed because my pop had been empty for almost an hour and I really wanted another one. HOWEVER, as a paying guest sitting at a table on the floor, I did not feel it was up to me to go to the bar to get a drink when there was a perfectly lazy waitress available. At NO TIME over the next 4 hours did she come to our table unless my husband called her over. And when he finally called her over? She said, "Do you want something?" REALLY????? No smile. Clearly very annoyed that my husband had the absolute audacity to make her work. And then she spent a few minutes chatting with the bar tender before bringing Lance his beer, which by that time he couldn't even enjoy because he was playing again. A slow burn was beginning with me ... AT NO TIME did Nikki go up the two steps to the Foos-ball area to either sell more drinks or clean up glasses from the players. AT NO TIME did Nikki serve Me so much as one drink. AT NO TIME did Nikki look at me when she was at our table. AT NO TIME did Nikki acknowledge me IN ANY WAY over the course of the entire 4 hours we were there while she was on duty. And at NO TIME did Nikki smile, engage in conversation, or in any way act like we were anything but a nuisance to her. TELL ME MANAGEMENT AT O2'S TAP HOUSE & GRILL. Do you want to sell products or just hire people to stand around??? They had a draw for a free t-shirt and something else (didn't catch what). Brooklyn brought us entries every time Lance purchased a beer. They sat on our table in plain sight, filled in and ready to picked up and dropped in a ballet box. Even though Nikki brought my husband two more beer before the draw, he didn't receive another ballot. No one picked up the ballots. And would you believe? Two of the "regulars" sitting at the bar won both prizes. TELL ME MANAGEMENT AT O2'S TAP HOUSE & GRILL. Who manages your bar on Monday nights? There were 2 disabled foo-ball players there that had to make the trip up and down the steps to go to the bar to get a beer, then try to carry them back without spilling anything while Nikki leaned on the bar. TELL ME MANAGEMENT AT O2'S TAP HOUSE & GRILL. Don't you want these guys to come in and spend their money at your establishment??? Many other bars encourage foos-ball players, and they are popular and full on these nights. TELL ME MANAGEMENT AT 02'S TAP HOUSE & GRILL. Don't you want these guys there? As a non-player I will not go there again if Nikki continues to work (??) there. I EXPECT service. I DON'T Want to see a waitress hanging around waiting for her pay cheque for doing nothing. As well as being a customer, I have been in hospitality management for 20 years. I have both Pro-Serve and Food Safe. I've managed many restaurants and bars over the years.
