We went to the H&C on Preston this past weekend to watch a Six Nations Rugby game. The place was almost empty and there were two waitstaff so things were looking up. The server came by to get our drink and food orders fairly quickly....And then we waited. It was 30+ minutes before our meals came out, and they were COLD. My side meat order and bread order were wrong. My husband's bread order was wrong. And my son's benedicts were TINY with a plate 2/3 full of generic hashbrowns. In addition, the Irish Breakfast is served in a cast iron pan, which only serves to make all the food taste metallic. It's also a joke compared to what is advertised - the beans are straight from a can, there are maybe five little mushrooms and one tiny plum tomato that is barely warmed up. The server never came by to check on things and I had to go to the bar myself to get her to tell her about my bread order. There were maybe 8 tables full at any time, with two servers. That is NOT acceptable. After 15 minutes we just asked for the bill so we could get out of there. I would have happily asked to have these issues rectified if the server ever showed her face or appeared to care. We will never, ever be going back.
