Individually or as a team meeting, Brown's food is good. and we were using them regularly. We have regular lunch meetings (distanced) and often order from them. However, the last few orders have made me, the order placer, being very disenchanted with the guy who...answers the Centretown location phone. We purposely order to pick up to save the restaurant the UberEats crazy mark up. Firstly, we ordered from UberEats and Brown's seriously screwed up the order but did eventually fix it after I spent time on the app to get it sorted, and they threw in a free bottle of wine, thank you. Since then, we order and pick up. The bigger problem is that they have made a special COVID menu, with less items available, which we can appreciate BUT their website menu still has everything available. I get my colleagues orders via msg and then call in the full order. However, the first time calling in our order a few weeks ago, the guy who answers the phone was extremely curt with me and said I was referring to the wrong menu and Steak Frites, french dip and the cauliflower appetizer are not on the menu now. I was confused because i was looking right at their online menu. He actually hung up on me. No apologies. I got my colleagues to give me a second choice and called it in. and we ate with no further adieu but I was unhappy at how I was dealt with. Second time last week, same issue. Today, same thing and he actually told me he had told me last week that certain items are not available and then proceeded to hung up on me. No apologies, no helping to see why we are seeing a different menu for Centretown, nothing. Just click off. I went to the website and see the full menu so called back to ask what I am doing wrong and he proceeds to chastise me with the fact that no one else has issues, so he meant I am the problem? Third time calling within a minute or less, a lady answers, takes my order. When I went to pick up, she was putting the payment through when he abruptly came over and presented me with a printed menu so that, I can only assume, we don't screw it up again. I don't accept this. and as a Team, we have decided to stop using Brown's. Obviously, you don't need our business. So much for helping the local eateries.
