When I was in the City Square Mall at Cambie and 12th Ave at around lunch time today I looked for some good food at the food court. In a far corner, quite hidden, I discovered “Water 80” offering Dim Sum. Since this is relative...unusual in a food court and due to the clear description with pictures and the explanation by the very friendly, good English speaking Asian staff I decided to try that one. And I didn’t regret that at all! I ordered a BBQ Pork Bun Combo containing 5 different pieces of Dim Sum (Mini Pork Bun, Spinach Shrimp, Crystal Shrimp, Siu Maai and the BBQ Pork Bun) (The service person recommended the cheaper option which was unusual but indicated the honesty of that business). The meal came pretty fast. All pieces tasted very good. I even didn’t need soy sauce to season them. I enjoyed the mean very much including the free, well-tasting Chrysanthemum tea (prepared with filtered water, what is not so common in Vancouver, but according to my own experience quite necessary). All kind of sauces were provided too. The only thing that was not so well was the served veggie which was not really warm; but also this tasted not bad. I certainly can recommend that restaurant and would go there again if I am there again.
