Maybe it's just the wood panelling and narrow space that reminds me of John's Grill in San Francisco, but there's something cool about it. A good cocktail list, though my first order -...a Pimm's Cup - prompted a visit by an apologetic (and charmingly hip) bartender, who explained that there's a shortage of Pimm's in Vancouver. She suggested a cucumber G & T, which was lovely. We shared coconut prawns for an appetizer, which were okay, but our mains - beef bourguignon for me, polo carbonara for my spouse - were excellent, way better than we had any right to expect at their modest price point. The cheesecake was good, though not special, and the coffee (no espresso, drip only) was fine. Our friend had a salad, which was generously portioned. Oh, there was a 15% discount because we were going to Pacific Theatre, which we appreciated.
