There are two locations of this restaurant. The decor was modern, clean and non-intrusive. I like neat and tidy restaurants and certainly this place does not disappoint. We were done shopping on this Sunday and decided to look for a Vietnamese Restaurant nearby. This place...was still open and we set out to its location. Right on Calgary Trail heading south, you can easily miss this place unless you enter the service road and enter the plaza of mix businesses of eateries, specialty services, and professional establishments. Parking is free and ample which is always good. We are the only two families here at 7pm on this Sunday night. So seating was no issue. We were greeted and brought to our table. The restaurant is narrow but long and can seat about 60+ people so its not too big. The kitchen can be viewed behind their pay counter. Everything was neat and clean. Some sauces are on your table already in containers and bottles so it has its charm. We flip through the hard back menu and it seems reasonable for pricing and the menu feels premium. We were brought small glasses and a glass carafe of water. Its different so props for that. Being Asian, we were a bit disappointed to not be served complimentary Jasmine tea however. Knock a few points for that. After placing our orders, were received our share plates and tablewares. Another disappointment is they gave the really small cheap napkins which a typical meal in Vietnamese restaurant is not enough. We had to use more of course. So I always debate the restaurants logic as to why give cheap, thin napkins to your guests? You may think money is saved but they may end up using more so it erases your savings and leaves a negative impression. If they started out with thicker serviettes in the first, place, one is usually sufficient and leaves a more positive experience. When the food arrived, I can see the portion sizes are smaller so it makes it a bit pricier now for value. I was left wanting more food after finishing my beef pho noodle soup. I has ordered other items but I was still a bit unsatisfied. Service was prompt, courteous and not intrusive. Being a newer place, that is probably just being new. The location is close to shopping and other establishments so I am sure once people are aware of its existence, they can have more customers. It would not be a place for me to drive or make it an effort on my part to get here though as there was less value and it blends in with other Vietnamese restaurants in Edmonton. There is no unique, special dishes or menu items that stands out enough to encourage me to be back or recommend to friends either. The taste and quality is on par.
