People talk about how this place is under some kind of new ownership. Other people talk about how the batter they use is too greasy. Compared to other top fish and chips places, this place takes the cake. Perfect halibut, perfect crunch. Thick filets. Excellent...fries and gravy. Outstanding scallops. Great coleslaw. Take it from someone who went on a fish and chips expedition in London England, and in Manchester England just last year 2020 before the pandemic in February......Mcnies is outstanding. I did not give the credit to this place that they deserved until recently. They are fantastic! Even in Toronto, I like them better than Old York on Laird, or Kingsway in Etobicoke.
