Pushap is one the oldest Indian restaurants in Montreal; at least 30 years at the same location. While only offering vegetarian food, the taste/value can't be surpassed. Being a "carnivore", I would go as far as saying that Pushap could gain a few vegetarian converts...:) Don't let the veg-only aspect of this restaurant prevent you from visiting! Pros: - Really affordable prices - Seems pretty authentic - Tasty, filling food; most folks go for the thali of the day, which comes with bread/rice, two curries and either dhal (lentils) or channa (chickpeas); - Excellent array of Indian snacks and sweets; I would highly recomend their pakodas and samosas for snacks, jilebis, gulab jamuns and dilbahars for dessert. For those unfamiliar with this items, it's worth trying them out here for the first time! Cons: - Parking isn't so easy (one tip could be to park in the mall close by on Paré) - Service is so-so, but the owner is exceptionally nice - Not the cleanest interiors; yet I would say the ambience makes you feel you've been transported abroad...wish there were more restaurants in Montreal that could provide such an experienceMore
