Coming in, the first thing that strikes you is the calming atmosphere, even with other patrons present. Overhead luminescent panel, wood paneling everywhere, design chairs & stools. Definitely a ‘70’s Italy vibe. The kind of place that would could easily have found its way in...the pages of Wallpaper* magazine. This restaurant bills itself as Salvadoran, but also serves Mexican fare. And we were surrounded by (what seemed to us to be) Latin American patrons – which in itself is a good sign. Portions are very generous, presented with an attention to detail that is refreshing to see. Their plates are the size of a small apartment. All this at prices that are more than affordable (we’re talking under $40 for one person, tip included). We had the grilled chicken and the seafood soup and both were very tasty, served with a wide assortment of sauces and condiments. Coffee was one of the best we’ve had in a long time, served with that splash of warm cream that almost turns it into a dessert. Our server, Lydia, was very attentive, in a non-obtrusive kind of way (in other words: not the type who interrupts you to ask ‘’is everything OK’’). The room for improvement is on the music front: something less generic, more in keeping with the ambient surroundings would kick it up a notch. Highly recommend this place for anyone seeking a relaxed, casual yet sophisticated, evening out.
