Walking around Vancouver, we wandered down to the cruise port area. Great views all around, including seaplanes taking off left and right and sailboats cruising down the harbor. We chose this restaurant for the outdoor seating (it was a beautiful day) and the menu, Italian...based, sounded fine. We were not terribly hungry so we shared the seafood tacos appetizer and a Thai chicken based lettuce warp appetizer with some fine local beer. The presentation was excellent and I will share a photograph of the tacos. As to the tacos, the coleslaw base sort of overwhelmed the taste of the shrimp and fish filling. On the lettuce wraps, the seasoning was not to my liking and the chicken was fried not grilled, so I could only sample some of it. It was ok - we finished them off - and the service was excellent. For example, when the taco plate was first brought to us, the accompanying french fries were not warm. Our wonderful waiter, who happened to be from Italy (imagine that), immediately replaced the plate with warm and very tasty fries. We finished those off as well. Again, though, the draw of this restaurant (on a pretty day) was the outdoor seating, which was very comfortable, and the views. The menu offered a number of Italian based entrees, sandwiches and pizza which may have all been very good. So temper this review with the fact we only ordered appetizers (which frankly, were so plentiful they were both meals in and of themselves as far as portions). I would return for the location and views and would probably try an entree. I like to give places at least a couple of chances and, as I said, the service was excellent!More
