It was such a nice evening I sat on the patio. I would say there was a real lack of décor. on the patio, though the inside looked more traditional. The food was served Brazilian style, servers walk around with skewers of different meats slicing...pieces off as requested. My table server seemed very inexperienced. I ordered the Rodizio (all-you-can-eat barbeque). I also ordered a glass of wine. I didn't get my wine until half way through my meal. The place was not very full. There was only one female server walking around with the meat. Because of a large group she emptied her skewers fairly often. She came out with different proteins each time so I had a good choice. She was always friendly, always came by my table when I had my green sign out and let me know what the meat was. I was disappointed when I found there was no lamb. I guess they only get their lamb deliveries on Fridays, and this was Wed. The meats were hit or miss. The Chicken Drumsticks and Pork were the best moist and tasty.. The beef cuts weren't seasoned. The Honey Garlic Roast was very good. The Top Sirloin was a bit tough, and the New York Strip was okay. The Sausage was a bit dry but okay. The Pork Ribs were terrible, they were moist but not grilled at all. The barbeque sauce overwhelmed the ribs. The fries were terrible. They were cool, and I am not sure what oil was used, they were also soggy. My sides that I ordered came out near the end of my meal. The Coleslaw was okay, but the Vinaigrette was awesome. It had the vinaigrette with fresh tomatoes, onions and a touch of cilantro. It would have made a big difference to my meal if I had gotten them sooner. About half way though my meal 2 other guys showed with skewers. They never smiled or told you what they were serving. Price was what to be for the experience, but the Brazilian ambience was definably missing. The servers, save one, did not connect with the customers. There was no fun of the Carnival. I would not recommend the Rio for anyone who has never had a Brazilian barbeque experience. Saying that, I left full, and in this day and age I will not run down any local restaurant struggling to survive.
