We came to the Powell Street Festival on this Sunday afternoon and a friend volunteering at the festival recommended we try the Mogu chicken karaage. So off we went and I stood in line for 15-20 minutes to place the order at the food truck...and another 40 minutes or so to get my two 7 piece orders for $20. The chicken karaage was served with a slightly sweet syrupy chilli sauce. The sweet chilli sauce tasted like any bottled product that you can buy at any Asian market. The karaage was hot, juicy and tender. Was it worth the hour wait? Having tasted the chicken karaage, I won’t be standing in line and waiting for an hour next time even though it was tasty. In my opinion, an above average chicken karaage that rates a 3.25 out of 5 rating. Notes & Tips: • On this day Mogu only sold chicken karaage. Website shows other menu items for sale including “bunwiches” with chicken, pork cutlet or shrimp. • Credit cards accepted • Check out the website and food app for additional information. Website says the food truck is normally at Howe and Dunsmuir (downtown Vancouver).
