We have been coming here off and on for the past 10 years or so - apparently it changed name and ownership recently. We were just visiting it again a couple of days ago, very authentic setting and food - we came in at 11...am and the place was practically full, and besides me in a group of Chinese, there was only one table with 2 Westerners. An hour later, as it was lunch time, I noticed 2 more tables with Westerners, but overall this is a very Chinese place with a happy hum and quite good dim sum. I am always amazed: We have dim sum very regularly in very many different places, of course mainly in Vancouver as this is in our vicinity with relatives nearby, but also in other places of the world - and it is just amazing how much of a variety the cooks can come up with - it is a very rare day when I have dim sum in a restaurant and I am familiar with all the dishes. In this place, I particularly liked the deep-fried squid with a garlic/chilly topping, as well as 2 different renditions of tofu: the golden sands (lightly crusty with a crispy skin and a smooth texture) and the home-town tofu, very smooth with a bit of shrimp/paste base) - we will definitely be back to try more of these favorites and experience further new creations! My preferred rating would be a 3.5 - good.
