In Hamilton for meetings and was advised to check ou Hess village for brewpubs. It was a dark wet night, everything seemed a bit dead for a Thursday and we never located the brewpubs. The Koi was a welcome sight and looked cheery from the...outside. Staff were super friendly in a relaxed way and we got a booth at the back by a fireplace. Food (fusion fare) was great- we shared a large appetizer platter- had the best edame ever (nicely salted) and battered shrimp with other other choices. Good glass of house white and a very reasonable bill. not sure I would chose th teriyaki for the chicken wings next time. But overall it was a cosy and quiet evening and was hard to move on. The next day my husband returned for lunch and was equally satisfied.
