I love to visit restaurants recommended by Avenue magazine. I have never given a critical review before, but I'm afraid I have to this time. I give them a 3 rather than a 2 because the service was fast and attentive, the place is SUPER...considerate of customers with gluten issues, the decor is fun, and the pizza was enjoyable. Our party of 4 ordered 6 different dishes: the pizza was great, the scallops and watermelon salad were fine. Now the other 3. The ceviche was left mostly untouched, and 3 of us LIKE ceviche. It was served with banana or plantain chips, which was a cool idea but they were stuck together and had a staleness to them that caused us to not eat more than one. The steak dish was a not incredibly flavoured steak on a bed of plain fries. No veg. For $38 a steak meal needs a little more effort than that. And the dessert was GF (thank you!). Chocolate pate. I understand it's supposed to be like a firm mousse but it was more like a solid block of chocolate that we could barely chop up with a fork. In conclusion I wanted to love it, but I didn't. If you go and have the pizza with the s'mores for dessert, you would be happy, but there is room for improvement.
