This is my first time at Epoch Bar & Kitchen Terrace at The Ritz-Carlton Toronto. I’ve dined at the hotel’s elegant Toca many times and always been impressed, so I shouldn’t have been surprised by how much I enjoyed Epoch. The room is beautiful and...I watched the season’s first accumulating snow frost the patio greenery. Service was Ritz-quality impeccable, but what I enjoyed most particularly is the fact that the menu offered a plethora of lunch-appropriate items. I overheard the couple next to me gushing to each other about the flavours of their respective Mushrooms on Toast and the Billionaire’s Shepard Pie. I chose the Chargrilled Lamb Burger with Skinny Black Garlic Fries. Perfectly cooked and dressed with Cucumber Raita, Feta and a kick of Spicy Mayo. It was FABULOUS! I was on my way to the Symphony, so didn’t indulge in the spectacular array of house cocktails nor the riot of other tempting menu / seafood items, so I absolutely WILL be back. Every detail was perfect, right down to the little leather saddle that wrapped the cloth napkin and matched the leather table top, and the modern grey stone china.
