We came here in search of Peruvian roasted chicken with green sauce...we found it! We started with a beef empanada and the papa rellena. Being from Chile, I am used to baked empanadas and this one's only downfall was that it was sprinkled with powdered...sugar. The crust was not too thick and the filling was well seasoned. The trio of spicy sauces brought to the table before any of the food came out provided the perfect punch to all the bites we had. I can't remember all the names, but one was huancaina--it is creamy and reddish orange. There was also a bright yellow sauce and a green one. My husband and I disagreed which was the best but I will say there was not much of any of the colors left at the end of the meal! The pollo a la brasa came out next. We got a 1/4 chicken since we were sharing. It was delicious. The skin was well seasoned and the meat-- both white and dark--was tender and juicy and delicious on it's own but with a dollop of one of the sauces...divine! IT came with french fries and a simple salad dressed with lemon juice. We also shared the olluquito which was something we had never had before. The olluco is a tuber native to Peru. The texture was between a carrot and a mushroom. Not strong in flavor but not completely bland either. It was served with pork in a savory sauce with rice on the side. All of it was delicious! I would happily go back and eat there again. Not sure if I would try anything different or just replicate our same meal...it was THAT good. We did not have room for dessert but they have quite a lot of choices including gelato. The service was good, the place is not very big but it was a delightful highlight of our time in Vancouver.
