Stumbled onto this place a year or so ago while attending a conference in the area - they had a set course menu and the quality and creativity was mind blowing at the price point. There are a couple famous sushi places in the city...that cost about three times as much and still, I’d stack Kamei’s creativity against theirs any day. This time, they have changed their menu and the set courses are gone but many of the elements are still there. Now though they’ve added some fantastic happy hour offerings. Bottom line though, their Omakase appetizer is out of this world awesome - affordable, simple, highly creative and delicious. And the sashimi! This is their superpower, put yourself in the chefs hands, you won’t regret it. IF you are a real sashimi lover. If you want cheap fast maki rolls, go somewhere else. The atmosphere here is a cut above too. Jazz, karaoke on some nights. I’m not from this Province but whenever I’m in town I come here. Highly recommend.
