Frustrating is the perfect word to describe my visit and non-dining experience at El Meson. I called two hours prior to arriving to see if we could reserve for 6:30, asking if they could accommodate us. The owner assured me that he could, took my...name, and phone number, and we'd see him at 6:30. We arrive and the place Is overcrowded, exceeding the 50% occupancy maximum as a covid precaution, but we tell them we reserved for 6:30. The Same person I spoke with deniedd that I had ever called, that I spoke to him, or that we made a reservation. He doubled down to say he wasn't even there at 4:30 to take the call. I showed him my phone, with El Meson's name and number and a call that lasted about a minute. He dismissively through his hand in the air a scoffed that anyone can call anywhere at any time. If he had said, I can't accommodate you at 6:30, I'd have been fine with that, to to promote a ridiculous lie, perpetuate the lie, then double down on the lie, they've lost our business.
