I've been going to Hapa since the original open 15 years ago or so. Justin Ault "invented" the Izakaya experience for Vancouver. Over the years it has been a regular dinner event, place for big family meals and to take out of town guests. Hapa...has never disappointed any of us or them. The first place we went with the restrictions lifted was Hapa and they're still doing it right! I'm going to call out some names here because they are what make it so special. David Vo at the bar is a maestro. Emma and Jenny are the two best servers in the city. This along with Justin's hand's on approach all over the restaurant coupled with great food and drinks make this such a pleasant experience. The sushi, salad, ebi mayo and tonight jerk chicken were as always fabulous. What also makes it nice is they know how to make you feel safe with proper social distancing for tables and everyone wearing masks. Vancouver is so lucky to have this restaurant!More
