Seldom have I felt so ripped off by a restaurant. 1. We booked 9 days in advance, during a weekday, requesting a window seat for two given that it was our anniversary. They stuck is in a table facing the bar and kitchen entry/exit, with...non-stop server traffic, while the window tables sat mostly empty. 2. The server was friendly and helpful. However, the food, with the exception of the half-shell oysters, which admittedly were shucked to perfection, was mediocre to inedible. 3. My wife's petit filet was OK, except that it was cooked unevenly through the thickness - rare on one half, medium on the other. I do better on my backward Weber. 4. My "prime rib", and I put that in quotes..... Aside from the fact that it was also cooked unevenly, I have no idea what cut of meat they gave me. To start, it wasn't even close to the 14 oz. advertised, it was thin as shoe leather, grisly beyond belief, and salted and charred beyond anything tolerable. I choked down 1/2 of it, and declined taking a doggy bag for the remnants. As for the "Chairman's Fries", they were burnt salt sticks. 5. We ordered a not-inexpensive bottle of wine. The wine was great. However, the server put the decanted bottle on the restaurant bar, within our sight (given that we were seated right next to the bar), but out of our reach. We were only granted a top-up at the discretion of our server. I have NEVER seen this before, and we felt that we were being treated like children. Upon mentioning that it was our anniversary (which I had previously advised), they gave us a cheese cake to take home. Big deal. With tip, we paid $400 on that meal for two. It was undoubtedly the worst $400 that we have spent in any restaurant, anywhere in the world - and we have done our share of travelling. This place may impress the poseurs, but....... The server welcomed us as "first-timers". We are certainly "last-timers".
