I came to celebrate my Milestone Birthday recommend by my friend, nurse at St. Paul's Hospital. I dislike sweets, so she made a custom cheese cake for me as that's the only thing I love to eat! As a gay men, I always make comments...such us. "Wow! I love your dress!" "You're such a handsome server," "I love your hair," "You're so stunning! Are you on the menu!?" "Beautiful music just like yourself" Anyhow, made one of those comments to the server at the beginning of the gathering with 9 of my friends. After 2 hours later, they brought up my custom made cake whom my friend made. They brought it out, just placed the candles on my face and took it away! I asked to bring back out to take pics and have memories. With no explanation, they cut it and brought us pieces of it to all us. I was angry! I wanted this once-in-a-lifetime memory on a picture! BUT they cut it without my permission. So no pictures of such an amazing gesture. I spoke to the manager outside in private of how upset I was. He blamed me that it was because of my "sexual harassment" comments. I apologized and told him, it was 2 hours ago when I said such. That if the server was uncomfortable to let u know and tell me. His response, "not sure what job you do, but he wanted to stay away from you and that's why he took and cut the cake immediately!" Apologizing for the misunderstanding, I told him, that it was almost 2hrs ago I made those comments. Yet, now his staff realizing he made that mistake, brought up the so-called sexual comments. I told him I was sorry if I made him uncomfortable, yet it was over 2hrs ago. Now, my 50th birthday was ruined and felt very sour! His response, "Your fault for abusing my staff!" Which I replied, "I'm a Hotel Concierge, I never abuse anyone or anything, so please teach your staff through Human Resources how to handle and defend themselves if feeling harassed." His response, "Well you did it so cannot say I'm sorry." The way Management deals with these scenarios, makes you realize that a so-called caliber of restaurant, has absolutely no guidance nor respect towards their guests. I must as well have gone to a McDonald's where the Manager can handle the worst scenarios. With all due respect, to the chefs, the food and presentation was superb! BUT the Management or their staff, makes the food taste absolutely TERRIBLE and reaeon why I give it less than 1 star. To ALL my Concierge friends, PLEASE STAY AWAY!!!More
