We read about this new upscale restaurant in Vancouver and being a fan of Peking Duck, made the long journey all the way from interior BC to try it out. It was such a disappointment. The $88 a portion duck was tasteless though tender and...crispy enough, they even charge the pancake that comes with it separately. We had the scallop which was actually the better dish of the meal instead of the signature duck. The Golden Candies came with a choice of yam, banana or Apple. Because the ones that we had tried in Shanghai has always been banana so we didn't look at the menu properly ( our fault) and assume it would be banana. It turned out to be hard, tasteless pieces of yam. The waitress didn't even ask us whether we wanted yam or banana or Apple - what kind of service is that? In addition this is a dessert and should be served last but it came almost the same time as other dishes and because we know it is best served hot we had to eat it before the main course!!! They did served it on a warm bowl but the caramel still harden very quickly. If you do order it make sure you specifically asked for banana and request for it to be served at the end of the meal. The worst thing which I think should be reported for public health was that they gave free fruits - melon and honey dew which was cut at the main counter by waitress without glove - just with their bare hands! How unhygienic is that? I noted the coastal health approval certificate right infront of it, ironical!!! Will never visit again.
