My friend and I walked in smiling and friendly and were met by a surly rude and unsmiling waitress who held up two fingers to confirm that we were a party of two, then led us to a table nearby under a garish spotlight that...was away from the (nicer -?) part of the dining room. When I politely asked if we could sit in the other area, she very rudely said that the table has to be cleaned there and “I don’t have time!” We sat there ignored for some time until another waitress named Celia took us over to a better table, which only had to be wiped with a cloth, not cleared. I ordered tempura and a rainbow roll. The tempura was heavy, greasy, doughy and the yam inside was oily. I have never had such terrible tempura. The tempura in other Japanese restaurants is light and crispy. This was the opposite. The rainbow roll was ok, but it was a miniature roll in comparison to other restaurants where they are easily twice the size. As a result, the pieces of sashimi on top of the roll were extremely small. Celia was pleasant and a good server, but based on the poor quality of food, the extremely rude hostess/waitress and the shoddy worn chairs and overall unimpressive dining experience, I do not recommend this restaurant and I advise anyone considering going here to take your business elsewhere. This was not an enjoyable experience at all.
