My mother (81), my daughter (7) and I were very much looking forward to having breakfast here. We had booked an online reservation. I identified that this was a special occasion (my mother's birthday). When we arrived it appeared as though the host was unaware...of the reservation. They did not appear ready for service. He did look up our reservation and was able to accommodate our request to dine on the veranda. The service was polite, however there was no mention of the special occasion, no offer of additional hot water for the tea and they did not clear the table when we were done dining. I wonder why they ask if it is a special occasion if there is then no acknowledgment of that special occasion. The food served was good. The location and building are fantastic. The gardens are appearing a bit run down. I wish I had something better to write. I am hoping that this is all due to the downturn of tourism due to COVID and the service and gardens will be returned to their full glory.
