When we travel, my husband likes to consult lists and recommendations by locals, not just tourist recommendations. As a result, we walked almost two miles from the heart of Old Quebec here. It is on the bottom of the hill. It's a strange place. It...has French food but an odd hipster vibe. The bathroom had exposed irrigation pipes that I could barely turn (like something a barn would use to hook a hose up to). The service was also not that great. Overall, I understand the French Canadian way is more European service, but I felt like the people were just kind of rude. We were sitting for 20 minutes, clearly done eating, and the guy was folding napkins, right next to us, not bringing us the check. We were never asked if we wanted drinks. I had a cup of coffee that was sitting out in the drip pot. It did NOT taste good, really stale. The actual food was really delicious. We had a charcuterie tray that was excellent. It had this awesome spicy mustard. It wasn't clear how large the meals were, so I ordered a salad and my husband ordered a soup in addition. We received three large salads, another large salad, a huge side of breakfast potatoes, and four slices of delicious bread. We definitely did not need the charcuterie plate! The butcher himself was really nice and checked on us a few times. Overall food was good but it's a weird vibe going on and service could be improved.
