Sang-ji baos for $6.
View All

4.0.0

This shack has got only 3 items on its menu: 1) 4 pieces of pan fried Sang-ji baos for $6.99 2) Wantons in soup for $5.99 3) Dried noodles in scallion oil with peanuts for $7.99 We had the pan fried sang-ji baos, which was...basically the shengjian baos that is native to Shanghainese cuisine. The baos came out piping hot from the pan, which we paired with the complimentary condiments (vinegar & chilli oil), along with a glass of water for each person. As with any shengjian bao, you have to be careful of the hot broth squirting out as you attempt to break the dumpling pieces. The dumplings were generously filled with a slight crisp on its base. As a person who loves dumplings, I was more than pleased with the quality and freshness of the sang-ji baos. We also got a glass of soya milk for each of us, which was $2/glass. I believe the soya milk was also freshly made on site, which we could tell from the taste of it. To sum it up, this is the place if you’re looking for perfection in a Shanghainese classic shengjian bao. However, be prepared for prices that are on a steeper side.
