When I host visiting foodies for a tour of the Beaches, I always bring them here, and they always love the funky vibe, with its walls filled with photographs of political oddballs, such as Fidel and Che, Gandhi, Lenin, Trotsky, and Trudeau. The clientele is...mixed -- always a good sprinkling of both aging boomers and millennials. Staff is always Millenials with torn jeans. The price point keeps the place accessible. It offers a great range of beers and a good range of ciders. Lots of local choices. Many people come here for the beer selection. They often have indie bands which are always fun. They all play a lot of their own pieces or their own unique interpretations of others'. Dancing is permitted in aisles between tables. People pay for the band with donations and lots of cheers. Food is vegetarian and pretty substandard, but palatable. You wouldn't come here for the food but you would have something to eat if you came for a drink and to hear some music and needed some nachos and cheese. No pressure to drink a lot, which I very much appreciate. Not too disabled-friendly -- steep stairs to get to the washroom.
