You know when you hate to let others know you've made a little discovery that maybe you should keep to yourself? Well...I'm going to share! We decided to check out La Tana (one of the places under the Savio Volpe umbrella), and we were absolutely...delighted with the place! It's kind of small but what they have on offer is very well done...a daily chalk board listing what pasta's are available that day...freshly made pasta by the way with a chef making/shaping them right in front of you. There are not many restaurants in Vancouver that make really good pasta. So not true here! We shared a bowl of maltagliati (badly cut in Italian) pasta with a very well made Bolognese sauce and ricotta, escarole stuffed ravioli, with just a hint of lemon in the filling, tossed with a tasty, well made pomodoro sauce! Also shared a very good kale Caesar. The place is so cute, so Italian we felt right at home like we do in our favourite places in Rome! They, hopefully, will get a liquor license because that's all that was missing...a nice glass of vino! And we couldn't leave without having a macchiato each and sharing a small cannoli and a small sfogliatelle...love those! Another good thing...you can buy fresh pasta to take home and we noticed they sell some of their sauces too! This will be our little secret!More
