Contrary to what you might think, Chaise on Main isn’t a furniture store where you can find an assortment of lounge chairs… it’s actually an eatery in the Riley Park area of Vancouver with a gastropub concept. It does have a bit of a bar...vibe going on… complete with a waitress that’s a bit on the gruff side. We showed up early on Good Friday and decided to do a mix of brunch and bar food. First up was the Honey Garlic Chicken Wings ($14). They have a variety of wing flavours to choose from but these turned out pretty good… not overly sweet with a nice light crispness to the exterior. The Seafood Benedict ($14) comes with crab and shrimp and is served on a toasted English muffin with wonderfully made hash brown potatoes and a small bowl of fruit. I like that they ask how you want your poached eggs – I asked for soft poached and the yolks were perfectly runny. Honestly, the food was pretty good here but, as I said earlier, the service was a bit meh… nothing overly bad but just little things that rang out in my head (ie. the way the waitress casually tossed the coasters on the table, the tone of her voice which sounded like she was just going through the motions, etc…).
