This place is fabulous! It is easy to find once you know where it is in North Edmonton, just a hop skip and a jump south of the Anthony Henday. Okay, I first had to learn what comprises a Detroit Style pizza. Simplistically, it is...a deep dish thick crust square pizza. But that just does not tell the story other than to provide a picture of what you might expect to see. But as we all know, pizza ain't for looking! After a true struggle with which direction we would take for our first pizza, my wife and I went with their large "Nice 2 Meat U". It was bigger than our eyes but it stays nicely in the fridge for warm-up later. The meat was thick and the sausage they use in this mountain of a pizza is what I would call, casually spicy. Best of all, it was a grand slam hit with the last of our children still at home. But "Big Bite Pizza and Donair" has a very special surprise for those that drive up to order and have twenty or thirty minutes to kill while they are waiting for their heavenly pizza. Their selection of gelato changes but I can guarantee there will be something that will tickle your taste buds. Their spoons are on the small side but with two of us tackling the bowl, it did not seem to slow us down. Please do yourself a favour and swing by this new soon to be very well known hideaway.
