We were recently at this restaurant for dinner and it was for a birthday. The shrimps were good but the salmon was overcooked and everything was a little oily...a bit slow on service but we figured it was because everything was being cooked fresh. After...the meal, they were told that it was someone's birthday at the table so they said they would take care of doing something special for the birthday...so they put on music and sang and allowed pictures! It was so very nice to have this kind of special celebration. They also brought over a dessert of pieces of brownie in a bowl along with ice cream and a sparkler of course. Again...so nice...or so we thought! When the bill came, however, we were shocked that they had charged $11 for what appeared to have been the dessert. We have NEVER had a restaurant charge if they bring over a piece of cake for someone's birthday and even if this restaurant had intended to charge, they should have advised the person who mentioned about the birthday! The charge was ridiculous too - $11 for pieces of brownie and ice cream is very pricey! If they were going to charge for the dessert, not only should they have said so...but they should have also given the birthday person a choice of what type of dessert she wanted and not just sent over something that they were going to end up charging $11 for! What a shock this was...up until the time that the bill came, it seemed like an okay restaurant - but after getting into the car and realizing that there was an overcharge of $11 plus taxes for a dessert called "fondant"...we will NOT be going back there. This amount should not have been charged without our okay and should really be refunded back to us! However, the person who paid for the meal didn't want to make a fuss at the restaurant at that time since it was his treat for the birthday person and it would have been embarrassing for everyone. In fact, had he said something, others in the restaurant would have heard, so he didn't want to make a scene! That being said - this is really wrong on the part of the restaurant!More
