We drove from North York to Winner's in Scarborough because they host karaoke on Saturday night and serve food late. We arrived at about 10:15 and were able to choose from the full menu, including half a dozen breakfast options. Prices are very reasonable, ranging...from $3-9 for appetizers, about $7 for breakfast entrees, $7-12 for sandwiches and burgers, and $8-13 for dinner entrees. The house white wine was superb - Jackson Trigg sauvignon blanc @ $4.50 per glass. Well drinks were similarly priced. Top shelf liquor was significantly higher. Hubby had two shots of rye and paid $22. They were supposed to be double shots, but we've seen enough liquor shots to know that the volume didn't come close to a double. I was happy with my house salad, with added grilled chicken @ $7.75. The veggies were crisp, the chicken breast flavorful and plentiful. Hubby ordered a 3-egg cheese omelet @ $7,and opted for cheddar cheese. The cheese was definitely not cheddar - it was melted Kraft singles, just gross. He scraped out the cheese and ate the eggs. Sides included toast and home fries. Our friend ordered a basic burger @ $7.75, which came with a mountain of fries. She said the burger was fine. Karaoke was fun. The DJ has about 50,000 songs and a great sound system. The patrons are appreciative of good karaoke, and we heard a lot of good singers. We liked the older crowd here.
