Three of us ate there, looking for a good vegan restaurant as one of our party was vegan and the other two liked a lot of vegan and vegetarian fare. We had some different opinions of the food. We all agreed that the Fried rice...with olives, pinenuts, and taro root was really good. I also liked, for the most part, the spicy vegetable-mushroom seafood, particularly the mushrooms. The fake seafood? Well, the jury is out on that one. We all agreed that the Mixed vegetables in Portuguese sauce was pretty awful, so much so that we sent it back. The sauce, which was supposed to be a coconut sauce, had a rather 'soapy' flavour, and the curry was really bland. It was replaced with a gai-lan (chinese brocolli) with a ginger sauce. I liked the ginger sauce, although the gai-lan was a bit bitter. The soy chicken drumsticks----pretty good as long as you don't pretend that its chicken. It kind of has the kind of enjoyment that you get from any deep fried appetizer, with the salt/fried bready texture being its main quality. The service wasn't good, even though we were the only ones there. No napkins, had to ask twice for water (which was luke warm). And the dishes were quite overpriced for the amount you got. In paying the bill...it was something like 59.20, and our host 'graciously' said we could just give her 60----and put the tip on the table. We did give a tip (as we always do)....but kept it small.
