I wanted to try the famous rice-based porridge, Cantonese-Chinese “CONGEE.” I minimize my simple carb intake (eg., white rice) but heard about “millet congee.” I made a BEELINE to this small, spotless restaurant to give that whole-grain a try. (Millet’s been around for 7000 years,...but don’t we Americans just feed it to cows?) Wow!! Yummy! (As was the pumpkin & purple rice versions!) I was the only non-Chinese guy here (see photo) but felt welcome. PS: BONUS FIND: Hand-made pasta as tall as a small child! (N)Oodles Of fun! (Ask for scissors.)More
