My friends and I put our name down for waitlist for a table in the patio. The host informed us that the wait was about 30 mins and that we will receive a txt when the table is ready. My friends and I left for...about 30 mins and came back before receiving a text. We asked the host how long it will take, she then says another 15-20 mins as we were second in line for table. We waited IN FRONT of the host table for the remainder of our wait. 1 hour later, we noticed that they had sat down 3 parties in the time we were waiting. I asked the host again if our table was ready, it was then I was informed that I didn’t reply to the txt alert within 5 mins and our table was given away. I looked at the time stamped and the time of txt, it was still within 5 mins of receiving the message. The host informed us that they will put our names down again for waitlist and it will be another 10 mins wait. 30 mins passed by and my friend asked if our table was ready, we were informed that the table is paying and as soon as it was cleaned up, we will be seated. Another 20 mins passed by, still the host said the table is not ready. Another 20 mins passed by, still silence from hosts, they avoided us and didn’t want to further explain or respond to our questions. A total of 2 hours and 15 mins later, we were finally sat at our table, no apologies or explanation or emphaty was offered. The entire time we were eating at the patio, we can see the host staring us down, it was the most unforgettable is the worst possible way, and uncomfortable experience ever. The host did not even try to hide the fact that they were talking about us the entire meal. The manager came to ask us what happened but nothing really came out of it, atleast he apologize but this experience left a very sour taste in my mouth. Needless to say, CACTUS CLUB has Wayyyyyyy better food and customer service. Never did I experience this else where. Horrible thing is, I posted this on my social media, and everyone who replied said they all also had bad experiences and Earls Yaletown is the worst location in terms of service. THIS SAYS EVERYTHING! PS there was also another group behind us that experienced the exact same thing and waited for over 2 hours because they replied to the txt alert for their table but the host said they didn’t receive a response. We were all pretty angry! NEVER.COMING.BACK!More
